DJ Biography
The son of a preacher man, Steve Edwards first came to prominence in the steel city of Sheffield where he immersed himself in the thriving music scene whilst working with the likes of Finlay Quaye and Mark Brydon of Moloko.

Steve was soon brought into the PRESENCE project by legendary DJ-producer Charles Webster where he performed alongside Shara Nelson of Massive Attack fame. Singles including ‘Better Day’ and ‘Future Love’ followed, both of which received widespread acclaim.

Steve’s reputation has grown substantially within the music industry since then. He has written and/or performed with BASEMENT JAXX, MOLOKO, XPRESS 2 and CASSIUS, with whom he wrote and performed the now legendary ‘Sound Of Violence’ which was a US Billboard #1 smash following its release in 2002.

More recently Steve has added his considerable writing and vocal talents to BENT’s album ‘ARIELS’ (MOS) and the critically acclaimed album ‘TROUBLE’ from Sandy Rivera’s KINGS OF TOMORROW collective.

One of Steve’s biggest tracks to date is the now massive ‘Watch The Sunrise’ by Swedish uber house producer Axwell. Included on compilations worldwide, ‘Watch The Sunrise’ is just a taste of what’s to come from the hugely-talented pair.

Steve is now head-hunted by the most reputable dance music production houses for his imaginative writing and unique vocals. He is currently working with Michael Gray and has just finished a ‘future top ten’ single with Dab Hands entitled ‘D.Y.O.T’. Additionally, Steve has written and performed 3 songs for Bob Sinclar’s forthcoming album including the glorious ‘Eco House’ anthem - ‘World, Hold On’ - which is already being bootlegged and is the follow-up to the worldwide smash hit ‘Love Generation’.

Steve’s track ‘Big Strong Love’ has just been included on the forthcoming MAW Soul Heaven compilation and there will be a solo single, ‘Thru The Night’, coming out on DTPM in the near future. Steve is also keeping busy as one third of the new electro hip-house hooligans Ape Generals, whose mash up of Buffalo Stance’s ‘Padded Bra’ is set for release on Nebula.

On the remix tip Steve has been putting his magic touch to Mr. Timothy and Inaya Day’s ‘Glamorous Life’, Kelly Llorenna’s ‘Nobody Like You’ and Danni Minogue’s ‘Perfection’.

In constant demand internationally as a singer/songwriter/producer, Steve is signed to a worldwide publishing deal through Universal Music and runs his own Big Strong Love & Northern Elektrix labels.
